A Yorkshire homebuilder has launched a support package to help homebuyers being affected by the coronavirus crisis, while offering a 5% discount for all NHS workers.
The East Yorkshire-based Beal Homes’ ‘Helping you make your move’ package features a range of measures for buyers who find themselves in limbo, including part and flexible exchange, initiatives for first-time buyers, and six months’ mortgage paid on selected homes.
The package comes as COVID-19 has brought uncertainty to the housing market, making it difficult for some people who need or want to move home.
Beal Homes’ chief executive Richard Beal said: “We appreciate this is a rapidly-changing situation which has affected people’s lives in so many ways and made it more difficult than previously to move home.
“But this is where we can come in and do what we do best, with our comprehensive, tailored package of support.”
Beal Homes’ package of support includes a part exchange scheme, which involves purchasing the buyer’s existing property and supporting them to move into their new home, and a tailored service to take care of the process of buying and selling.
The family-owned housebuilder has also pledged to offer flexibility on contract exchange dates, a Launch Pad initiative to help first-time buyers with selected plots, and six months’ mortgage paid on selected, ready-to-move-into view homes.
In addition to its support package, Beal has also introduced a new 5% discount for all NHS workers – in recognition, it says, of the vital role that health service staff are playing in the fight against the coronavirus.
Sue Waudby, sales and marketing director at Beal Homes, added: “We appreciate NHS workers have far more important things to focus upon at this time of national emergency, but we wanted to do something to reward those health service staff who were already planning to move, or had begun the process.
“The discount is not time limited, so NHS staff will be able to benefit from it when this very difficult period has come to an end.”
Beal is currently delivering a range of developments in Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, including The Greenways development site in Goole where it has already secured over 50 reservations.
