BERNESLAI Homes has announced that Amanda Garrard will take the helm as the organisation’s new chief executive in September.
Garrard is currently group director of neighbourhoods at Together Housing Group and comes with over thirty years’ experience in the social housing sector.
She is succeeding Berneslai’s current chief executive, Helen Jaggar who is retiring in August after 12 years with the Barnsley-based housing provider.
“I am really pleased to have appointed Amanda as our new chief executive,” said Paul Hayes, chair of the board. “Amanda has a great deal of experience and a lot to offer Berneslai Homes and the wider community of Barnsley and I am confident she will continue to deliver excellent services. Myself and the board are looking forward to working with Amanda and welcoming her to Berneslai Homes.”
Garrard added: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new CEO at Berneslai Homes. Having started my career in Barnsley it is great to return and take up the new role at such an exciting time.
“It will be hard to follow Helen Jaggar who has done such an excellent job developing and leading Berneslai Homes. Although there are challenges ahead, there are opportunities too for Berneslai Homes to continue to contribute to an inclusive economy which will benefit tenants and communities in Barnsley and I look forward to working with staff, tenants and all our stakeholders to fulfil this ambition.”
