Salford private rental scheme almost ready to dock

WORK is expected to start on one of the North West’s biggest private rental schemes in Salford later this year.

The £48 million Dock 5 development, which is being built by ForLiving, will include 389 apartments and feature onsite cinema rooms, a residents’ lounge and a gym.

ForLiving is the commercial arm of ForViva, offering homes for sale, shared ownership and private rent.

Located less than 10 minutes’ drive from MediaCityUK, the eight-storey scheme in Fairbrother Street, Ordsall, has been designed by architect Falconer Chester Hall.

“Dock 5 is an incredibly unique development, with luxury communal facilities rarely seen in Greater Manchester,” said Paul Gerrard, director of ForLiving.

“Ordsall is fast becoming a prime location for both commuters and young people. We wanted to reflect that youthful vibrancy by providing the ultimate in urban living. We are delighted to deliver this to the local community.

“This scheme is the latest in the group’s commitment to developing state-of-the-art properties across the North West region.”

Dock 5 is due to be completed in 2023. When completed it will be owned by housing association and ForViva Group members ForHousing.
