THE first new homes have been completed on a £5.5 million development in Scarisbrick, West Lancashire.
The scheme, known as ‘The Brook at Scarisbrick’, is being developed by One Vision Housing, part of the Sovini Group, and will provide 40 homes for Affordable Rent, shared ownership and rent to buy.
The first phase of the Homes England-backed scheme is expected to be handed over this month
Situated on Southport Road in the parish of Scarisbrick, construction is being carried out by MBE Construction.
“We have received lots of interest in the development as it provides well designed, spacious and affordable homes in the popular location of Scarisbrick, where house prices make it difficult for local people to rent or buy a home,” said Helen Reddington, Sovini Group’s head of sales.
“We are delighted to have worked in partnership with West Lancashire Borough Council, Homes England and MBE Construction to create affordable homes to help support the local housing need.”
“Our shared ownership and rent to buy offer is continuing to grow in popularity amongst first time buyers and those returning to home ownership as it’s an affordable and achievable pathway into home ownership for many people.”
Councillor Jennifer Forshaw, portfolio holder for housing and inclusion at West Lancashire Borough Council, said: “There is a real need to develop affordable housing for rent and sale in our borough. The council is committed to ensuring local people can access affordable housing for rent and sale and we are pleased to be working with One Vision Housing on this important issue. Together we are making real progress.”
The Brook at Scarisbrick offers a range of two- and three-bedroom homes. The development is part of One Vision Housing’s programme to build 1,100 new homes by 2021.
