THE Sovini Group has embarked on a recruitment drive across the Liverpool city region to find 15 new apprentices.
This latest recruitment drive will see 50 apprentices employed across the group by September 2019. Current vacancies range from a bilingual housing apprentice with Pine Court Housing Association, to a warehouse apprentice based at Sovini Trade Supplies’ Ellesmere Port branch.
Sovini’s recruitment efforts have been noted by the region’s metro mayors.
Steve Rotheram, mayor of the Liverpool city region, said: “Increasing the number and range of apprenticeships available across our city region is vital, both to enable individuals to fulfil their potential and to ensure our businesses have the skills they need to succeed. It is really good news that The Sovini Group will now be employing 50 apprentices and I hope more of our businesses follow their example.”
Liverpool mayor, Joe Anderson, said: “Apprenticeships play an important role in the Liverpool City Region. They provide a real in-road into the world of work for young people in our city, giving them the on-the-job training and experience they need in today’s ever-competitive jobs and careers market.
“Liverpool City Council is a firm supporter of the apprenticeship system and we have our own successful scheme in place. It’s great to see companies like The Sovini Group doing such great work in providing real hope for our young people for the future.”
Roy Williams, chief executive of the Sovini Group, added: “We are delighted to offer such a diverse range of apprenticeship vacancies across the Group. As we continue to grow it is essential we invest in our future, as this will not only benefit our organisation, but it will have wider benefits for the communities where we operate.”
