ONE Vision Housing (OVH) is building 40 new Affordable Rent and rent to buy homes in the West Lancashire village of Scarisbrick.
The £5.5 million development, called The Brook, is part of OVH’s current £110 million development programme, which is intended to deliver 1,100 new homes between 2018 and 2021.
Wirral-based MBE Construction is building the properties, which are due for completion in in 2019, and were designed by BTP Architects.
The scheme consists of 12 cottage style apartments for Affordable Rent and 28 houses for rent to buy. It has been allocated £1.5 million grant funding from Homes England via their current 2018-21 Shared Ownership and Affordable Housing Programme (SOAHP).
“The Brook at Scarisbrick is part of our strategic Development Programme to support local housing need,” OVH’s group development director, Louise Davies.
“As well as Affordable Rent properties, the development provides an affordable pathway into homeownership, with homes available for rent to buy. The Government-backed rent to buy product has been launched on One Vision developments elsewhere in Liverpool and Sefton, and has received an unprecedented amount of interest, so we anticipate that the scheme will be popular with those looking to move into homeownership at some point in the future.”

The result has been a high-quality design, which ensures provision of plenty of green space, including a planted courtyard area, and is in keeping with the rural surroundings.
