A Merseyside housing provider has launched a flagship development of shared ownership and rent-to-but homes in Walton.
One Vision Housing’s (OVH) Blackbird Grange provides 66 newbuild homes, consisting of a mix of two-, three- and four-bedrooms homes.
The development occupies the site of the former Walton Hospital, which is the birth place of the Sir Paul McCartney.
The scheme was designed and delivered in partnership with local contractor Mulbury Homes, Eden Building Design and E3Cube.
It forms part of OVH’s current development programme to deliver 1,100 new homes between 2018-21.
The £10 million scheme received grant funding of £2.4 million from Homes England, as part of its current Shared Ownership and Affordable Homes Programme.
“We are delighted to have welcomed buyers into their new homes on this highly anticipated development,” said Louise Davies, OVH’s director of development. “The properties have been designed to an exceptionally high standard to meet the aspirations of today’s budding homeowner — with modern kitchens and bright open plan living areas throughout.
“The development has clearly been well received, based upon the phenomenal level of interest. Rent to Buy provides aspiring homeowners with an opportunity to rent for five years whilst they save for that much needed deposit, with an option to purchase their home at the end. We have a pipeline of similar schemes across Merseyside which we will be delivering over the next two years.”
