A Rochdale landlord is seeking planning permission to demolish five 1960s-era tower blocks in the Lower Falinge area and replace them with 55 new homes.
The detailed planning application submitted by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) proposes a mix of 33 flats and 22 houses to replace the blocks. In addition, there would be a new park and play area create to create a “green heart” in the centre of the neighbourhood.
“Our proposals will deliver 55 new homes of the highest quality at the heart of Lower Falinge,” said Clare Tostevin, RBH’s director of growth. “Residents have told us that they would like to see more family homes with gardens in Rochdale town centre, and our proposals will help us to improve the quality and mix of homes in the area.”
