A project that provides construction training to disadvantaged youngsters has won a prestigious regional industry award.
Stockport Homes and B4Box scooped the prize for Integration & Collaborative Working at the North West Regional Construction Awards 2018. The winners were announced at a ceremony in Manchester this month.
In addition, one of the scheme’s successful apprentices was also crowned G4C Future Leader at the awards, and is moving on from B4Box to Stockport Homes Group, where they are taking on a new, full time position as building surveyor.
Aileen McDonnell, founder and chief executive of B4Box said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for the strong working partnership we have with Stockport Homes, and how we are continuing to make a huge difference to the lives of local people and providing them with bright future career opportunities.”
Robin Burman, chair of Stockport Homes’ board added: “This successful project is making a huge difference to Stockport, boosting the local economy and providing a range of opportunities to a diverse group of staff. We are proud to have been recognised for the impact we are making in the Stockport community.”
